Excerpt from the minutes of the Regular Meeting of the Hierarchical Sobor of the RTOC-MM:

“At the meeting of the Hierarchical Sobor of the Russian True-Orthodox Church – MM, which was held on August 10, 2022 in the Minneapolis, MN, Metropolitan Alexy proposed an official change of name for the jurisdiction from Russian True Orthodox Church-MM to True Orthodox Church of the Diaspora. In conjunction with the change of name, the title of the First Hierarch is proposed as Metropolitan of All America and the Diaspora. The archiepiscopal see currently held by Metropolitan +ALEXY remains unchanged.

Metropolitan +ALEXY called for a vote on the name change to True Orthodox Church of the Diaspora and the title of the First Hierarch to Metropolitan of All America and the Diaspora. The results were:

Metropolitan +ALEXY – Yes

Archbishop +HARALAMPOS – Yes

Archbishop +HERMOGEN – Yes

Bishop +NICHOLAS – Yes

The proposal passed and the name will be changed officially on October 14, 2022.
