Consecration Date: Archbishop Alexy was consecrated Bishop of Minneapolis and Chicago on Sunday, January 20 (o.s.) / February 2, 2003 (n.s.) in Moscow, Russia by Archbishop Vyacheslav and Bishop Michael, in the Temple of icon The Most Holy Mother of God “The Healer”.
On March 27, 2005 Hierarchical Synod, elevated Bishop ALEXY to the rank of Archbishop.
May 9 (22), 2012, on the Day of the Translation of the Holy Relics of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker of Myra, Hierarchical Synod of the Russia-True Orthodox Church – Moscow Metropolia has appointed Most Reverend Archbishop Alexy of Minneapolis as the locum tenens of the RTOC-MM in the wake of the repose (†May 1, 2011.) of Metropolitan Vyacheslav (Lisovoy).
On the first round of vote, the Most Reverend Alexy, Archbishop of Minneapolis and Chicago and Locum Tenens of the Moscow Metropolitan See, was given more than 2/3 votes (i.e. 5 of the 6) and, in accordance with the Statute, was elected the second Primate of the Russian True Orthodox Church, Moscow Metropolia.
On August 10th 2022, at the Meeting of Hierarchs of the RTOC-MM, jurisdiction has adapted a new name – True Orthodox Church of the Diaspora.
