His Eminence, Archbishop Alexios, is the titular hierarch of the Diocese of the Archangel of the True Orthodox Church of the Diaspora, based in Weatherly, Pennsylvania. For decades he has dedicated his life and ministry to preserving authentic Orthodox ecclesial life in the Diaspora, upholding the fullness of Sacred Tradition with pastoral sobriety, theological clarity, and unwavering fidelity to the Church's patristic and canonical legacy. Born and raised in Pennsylvania, Archbishop Alexios entered monastic life at a young age, receiving monastic tonsure in September 1977. His early years of service in the Church reflect a steady ascent through the orders.

Ordained to the Holy Priesthood – Pennsylvania, 1994.
After many years of pastoral ministry, missionary work, and service to the Orthodox communities of the United States, he was consecrated a bishop on April 27, 2014, receiving the acclamation Axios. On April 12, 2025, Metropolitan Alexy and the hierarchs of the Holy Synod elevated him to the dignity of archbishop, also receiving the acclamation Axios.
Ministry of the Archdiocese
As Archbishop of the communities of Hazleton and Weatherly, Archbishop Alexios has worked tirelessly to strengthen Orthodox life in the Diaspora. His ministry is characterized by:
fidelity to patristic and canonical tradition;
commitment to the integrity of the liturgical year;
pastoral care for the clergy and faithful;
theological clarity in times of ecclesial confusion;
and strengthening Orthodox communities through teaching, writing, and charitable work.
He is the founder and builder of several key institutions within the Diocese of the Archangel:
Archangel Memorial Park, the Orthodox Church of the Holy Archangels, and the Orthodox Mission of Saints Peter and Paul.
His Eminence has also personally overseen and supported local charitable initiatives, including food distribution to food banks and community assistance programs.
Teaching and writing
Archbishop Alexios is the author of numerous pastoral letters, catechetical reflections, and theological essays that address the challenges facing the contemporary Orthodox world. His monograph, "The Orthodox Year of Grace," offers a clear and accessible exposition of the liturgical calendar and the spiritual rhythm of the liturgical year. His writings consistently reflect:
a deep commitment to the continuity of Sacred Tradition;
pastoral sensitivity to the needs of the faithful;
and a clear voice amidst the complexities of modern ecclesial life.
