Name Day: February 12/25.
Date of Consecration: Archbishop Alexy was consecrated Bishop of Minneapolis and Chicago on Sunday, January 20 (o) / February 2, 2003 (ns) in Moscow, Russia, by Archbishop Vyacheslav and Bishop Michael, in the church of the icon of the Most Holy Mother of God "The Healer."
On March 27, 2005, the Hierarchical Synod elevated Bishop Alexy to the rank of archbishop.
On May 9 (22), 2012, the Feast of the Translation of the Holy Relics of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker of Myra, the Hierarchical Synod of the True Russian Orthodox Church – Moscow Metropolis appointed Archbishop Alexy of Minneapolis as Locum Tenens of the TROC-MM following the death (†May 1, 2011) of Metropolitan Vyacheslav (Lisovoy).
In the first round of voting, the Right Reverend Alexy, Archbishop of Minneapolis and Chicago and Locum Tenens of the Moscow Metropolitan See, received more than two-thirds of the votes (i.e., 5 out of 6) and, in accordance with the Statutes, was elected the second Primate of the True Russian Orthodox Church, Moscow Metropolis.
On August 10, 2022, at the Meeting of Hierarchs of the TROC-MM, the jurisdiction adopted a new name: True Orthodox Church of the Diaspora.
