VISITATION TO STS. ANDREW AND PETER CHURCH IN TORONTO, CANADA

TORONTO, Ontario—It was a beautiful, sunny, summer dayin Toronto as faithful from around the area gathered tocelebrate the Divine Liturgy. Hosted at the BelarusanOrthodox Church in Toronto, a Divine Liturgy was offered byHis Eminence, Archbishop Nicholas, with the blessing ofHis Beatitude, Metropolitan Alexy. Upon his arrival, theArchbishop was greeted with a banner celebrating the visitby some very enthusiastic parishioners. Together with therector, Father Abishua Daniel Suleman, the people wereable to experience the Divine Liturgy in this beautiful church at the inaugural liturgy of Sts.Andrew and Peter parish. The congregation was comprised of people from a variety of ethnicbackgrounds, most notably, Pakistani, South Asian, and Indian.
During his homily, Archbishop Nicholas noted that the celebration that day showed thatOrthodoxy knows no borders. He acknowledged the work of Father Abishua Daniel ingathering together this diverse group and teaching them about the Orthodox faith.
Following the Divine Liturgy, a reception featuring native foods was held at the home of oneof the parishioners. Following dinner, His Eminence was gifted with some traditional garb.
